NASEO Hosts CCS and Emerging Clean Coal Technologies Study Tour and Workshop in Houston

On June 13-14, NASEO, with support from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy, hosted an educational workshop on Carbon Capture, Sequestration, Utilization and Clean Coal Technologies in Houston, Texas. Energy officials from eleven states attended the two-day workshop to learn about the latest clean coal and carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration (CCUS) technologies, as well as emerging technologies that would allow for the domestic production of rare earth elements. Participants also learned about policies and programs at the state and federal levels which support these technologies. The workshop included tours of NET Power’s Allam Cycle Demonstration Facility and the Petra Nova Plant, which is one of the world’s most advanced and successful CCUS sites. Workshop presentations and resources are available on NASEO’s website.
