In March, the State of Oklahoma released a short video which highlights the response to a severe tornado warning and how energy assurance is a part of the overall State disaster response plans. The video, which is designed for a broad audience and is suitable for classroom settings, serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of emergency preparedness and the role of the energy assurance plans; public awareness is a vital part of emergency preparedness and energy assurance. The Oklahoma Energy Assurance Plan was prepared by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, with the guidance of the Oklahoma State Energy Office, and in partnership with the Risk and Crisis Management Center at the University of Oklahoma.
