Senate Passes Geothermal Production Expansion Act

On Wednesday, July 9, 2014, the U.S. Senate passed the Geothermal Production Expansion Act S.363 by unanimous consent. The bill was introduced by Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) and would authorize the U.S. Bureau of Land Management to offer noncompetitive leases of up to 640 acres of land adjacent to geothermal resources in order for geothermal companies to expand.
