NASEO Submits FY'14 Energy Budget Testimony to House Appropriations Subcommittee

On March 29, 2013, NASEO's Executive Director, David Terry, submitted testimony to the House Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee encouraging funding for specific U.S. Department of Energy programs.  NASEO urged the subcommittee to support the State Energy Program at no less than $50 million in base formula funding, $210 for the Weatherization Assistance Program, and $116.4 million for the Energy Information Administration.  Mr. Terry's testimony went on to encourage FY'14 funding levels for the Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability, specifically $18 million for energy assurance activities.  Mr. Terry also expressed NASEO's interest in working with the Subcommittee, Congress, and the Administration on the Race to the Top initiative, though adding that it should not supplant SEP funding.  The testimony concluded with examples of successful SEP activities.
