On April 21, 2023, Maryland Governor Wes Moore signed the Clean Trucks Act of 2023 and the Clean Transportation and Energy Act. The Clean Trucks Act of 2023 requires truck and school bus manufacturers to sell an increasing annual percentage of zero-emission vehicles beginning with Model Year 2027 to align with California’s standards. The Clean Transportation and Energy Act extends the duration of the Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Rebate Program by increasing incentive levels and the annual cap on program incentives for Fiscal Years 2024 through 2026. The rebate program, administered by the Maryland Energy Administration, provides both residential and commercial rebates for costs incurred acquiring and installing Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment.
