Under the direction of the Chief of Staff, the Director of Communications is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a communications strategy consistent across all traditional media and digital platforms that aligns with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities’ (NJBPU) Mission; effectively communicates the NJBPU’s role as the State’s utility and clean energy regulator; and amplifies the public policy goals and priorities of the Administration, especially as it pertains to achieving 100% Clean Energy by 2050. The Director supervises the Division of Communications staff; draft speeches, press releases, and other materials; and oversees the provision of information to the public regarding NJBPU programs, policies, and Board actions. Solar Program Manager

The Division of Energy is currently recruiting for the following position:
Position 00061 (Richmond) - Solar Program Manager (Policy Planning Specialist II) - The Division of Energy (DE) is seeking a Solar Program Manager (Policy & Planning Specialist II) to support local government efforts to site, procure, and deploy solar energy generation for private, government, and community facilities. Provide policy and technical assistance to local officials, private companies, and other community members on solar resources and land use, permitting, and environmental decision-making. Assist localities by providing best practice approaches to the siting and permitting of large commercial and utility-scale solar installations while balancing competing land uses and interests, including considerations for environmental justice, water quality, historic and cultural resources, and grid infrastructure. Coordinate local government solar assistance initiatives and similar programs directed to state agencies, sharing best practices and lessons learned with local government officials, community members, and other state agency partners.
The position will report to the Associate Director of DMME's Energy Equity Program and will work with other DMME managers, staff, the Governor's Office, and other agencies to achieve the position’s purpose and objectives.
